“The opposite of poverty is justice”

The Challenge

The current situation needs change!

Incarcerated individuals often reoffend after their release, with many being convicted again. We are convinced that recidivism is preventable. We aim to address this challenge because behind every case of reoffending is a crime that not only burdens our society and the justice system but also represents a waste of potential.

What We Stand For

Our Vision and Mission

Richtungswechsel advocates for a society that empowers every incarcerated individual with targeted support and opportunities for successful integration. Our focus is on collaborating with prison staff and promoting positive public engagement. We strive to break the cycle of recidivism and enable lives free of crime. Through our commitment, we raise awareness of the importance of (re)integration and support the justice system in fostering positive change.

Best Practices

We believe in highlighting evidence-based practices and best practices.

Why reinvent the wheel?

There are outstanding examples worldwide that demonstrate the positive changes justice systems and its professional staff can achieve. At the same time, there are external organisations and NGOs that promote social (re)integration and systemic change through their initiatives.
