VISIT TO THE WOMEN’S PRISON IN ŘEPY – Prague🏚️🔑

On the last day of our trip, we visited the remarkable open women’s correctional facility in Řepy, Prague. This facility follows a unique reintegration concept based on trust and responsibility. No bars on the windows, only one correctional officer each shift on duty, and an atmosphere of openness.

Within the same complex is the St. Karel Boromejský nursing home, where at the moment 30 incarcerated women work there together with nurses and doctors. They also have the opportunity to get the diploma as nursing assistants there. The remaining 20 residents are employed outside the facility. Relationship-building is not an exception here but rather an integral part of the security concept – trust between the correctional staff and incarcerated people is tangible and fosters a positive atmosphere of cooperation. 🔑💬

This facility demonstrates that reintegration is possible through real responsibility, social inclusion, and humanity. A remarkable model for a forward-thinking justice system.
